My Vinyl Collection: How I Rediscovered the Magic of Music

Do you know that special feeling of holding the newest album of your favorite band in your hands?
That exact feeling is what I had been missing in the last years…. until I rediscovered vinyl.
The good old days
I grew up without music streaming or always-available internet. Back then, the release date of a new album of one of my favorite bands was sacred. You marked it in your calendar. You counted down the days. And finally on release day, you’d rush into the city hoping to find it on the CD shelf.
Don’t get me wrong: I love streaming and use it every single day. But the magic of those early moments slowly faded. However, with vinyl, I found that magic again.
What vinyl brings back
A few years ago, I fell in love with vinyl because of its incredible variety. Many of my favorite bands release beautifully designed records with special editions, extras, artwork, and booklets you simply don’t get in digital form.
It reignited that old spark. That sense of anticipation. That physical connection to the music.

Why collecting matters to me
Since then, collecting vinyl has become a true passion. Vinyl taught me to listen consciously again. To sit down, slow down, and really experience music.
Music has always played a huge role in my life. It has carried me through hard moments and amplified the good ones. And that feeling of putting on a record on a quiet evening or during a slow weekend, fully immersing myself in the sound, is something I’d been missing for years.
But now it’s back. Finally.
